Work out GST in seconds. Enter an amount, pick the GST slab and choose whether to add GST to a base price or extract it from a GST-inclusive total.
Goods and Services Tax (GST) is an indirect tax levied on the supply of goods and services in India. It replaced many earlier taxes with a single system. For transactions within a state, GST is split equally into CGST (central) and SGST (state); for inter-state supply it is charged as a single IGST.
Essentials such as packaged food, footwear and economy transport.
Standard goods and most services fall into these two slabs.
Luxury and sin goods such as premium cars and aerated drinks.
For supply within a state, GST splits equally into CGST (to the centre) and SGST (to the state). For supply between states, a single IGST is charged instead, at the same total rate.
When a price already includes GST, "remove GST" works backwards to find the original base price and the tax component within that inclusive amount.
The rate depends on the specific good or service (its HSN/SAC code). Common slabs are 5%, 12%, 18% and 28% — check the official rate for your category before filing.
